Warwick, R.I. – May 6, 2016: The CCRI Lady Knights softball team (20-8) won the Region XXI Tournament last weekend over Dean College. The Region XXI Champion Lady Knights earned the opportunity to host the NJCAA District K softball tournament this weekend. CCRI will host Region III Champion and No. 16 ranked Mercyhurst Northeast (33-15) from North East, PA who defeated Orange County CC last weekend and the Region XIX Champion Titans of the County College of Morris (29-15) from Randolph, NJ who defeated Delaware Tech-Owens Thursday evening.
The District Tournament will be held at Winslow Park located at 300 Airport Road in Warwick, RI this Saturday and Sunday in a double-elimination format. The Tournament schedule is a follows:
10:00am: CCRI (20-8) vs CC Morris (29-15)
12noon: CC Morris vs Mercyhurst Northeast (33-15)
2:00pm: CCRI vs MNE
10:00am: Game 1
12:00noon: Game 2 (Championship or IF game)
The District K Champion will earn a berth to the NJCAA Division II Softball National Championship in Clinton, MI May 18-21st.
