Navy Prep (NAPS) closed the first quarter with an 8-2 run to lead 20-14 to begin the second quarter. In the second quarter both teams played evenly scoring 11 points apiece to give NAPS a 31-25 lead at halftime.
In the second half the Lady Knights cut into the NAPS lead by outscoring them 14-11 with some effective 3-point shooting led by Co-Captain Haley Beausoleil (Plainfield, CT) who sank two long range bombs from behind the arc. Lyric Artis and Mackenzie Brayman (North Stonington, CT) joined the 3-point attack sinking one each. The 3-point attack cut the NAPS lead to 42-39 entering the final quarter. In the final quarter the Lady Knights closed the lead to just one point with the score 46-46 on a basket by Harden but could not get enough stops to get over the hump as NAPS closed the quarter with an 11-5 run to win by the final count of 57-51.
Leading the way for the Lady Knights was Kennethah Harden with her 19th double-double in 23 games charting game-highs with 19 points and 15 rebounds while also dishing-out two assists and swiping two steals. Harden was helped by Co-Captain Haley Beausoleil scoring 14 points with a game-high four 3-pointers with three assists two rebounds and a steal.
