The CCRI cross country team put together a good showing at the Emmanuel College Invitational on Friday afternoon, which took place at Franklin Park in Boston.
Ian Anderson (Warwick, RI) led the Knights once again, with an overall finish of 91st out of 206 runners. Anderson finished the race in a time of 30 minutes 54 seconds, a personal-best for an 8k race. Jared Gruslin (North Smithfield, RI) finished second for the Knights, placing 127th in a time of 32:50, while Joe Gareri (Uxbridge, MA) placed 160th in a time of 35:08.
The Knights will be back in action on Sunday when they compete in the Boston Mayors Cup, before hosting the CCRI Northeast Invitational on Saturday, November 1 at the Flanagan Campus in Lincoln. The men will race at 10:00 a.m., while the women’s race is set for 11:00 a.m.
The Community College of Rhode Island, New England’s largest comprehensive community college, enrolls nearly 18,000 students in credit courses and thousands more in non-credit and job training classes. Its athletic program boasts 12 varsity programs and an academic support program for all student-athletes.
