Warwick, R.I. - November 10, 2014: Three CCRI Cross Country runners traveled to Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, NY to compete in the Division III Men's Cross Country National Championship on Saturday. The Knights only had three runners so they did not register a team score but they did have some very good individual times. The Men's individual race winner was Juan Barajas from Harper Community College. The team winner was also Harper Community College with a total score of 28 and in second place was Mohawk Valley CC with a total of 92 points.
Leading the way for the CCRI contingent was Ian Anderson (Warwick, RI) who has finished as the top CCRI runner in all his meets this year. Anderson finished in 62nd place out of 139 runners in a time of 31 minutes 56.1 seconds over the 8k course. The second Knight to finish was Jared Gruslin (North Smithfield, RI) finishing in 81st place in a fine time of 33:04.5 while Joe Gareri (Uxbridge, MA) was the third CCRI finisher with a time of 36:26.7. All three Knights ran well all season and finished-up the season with great efforts at the Nationals.
