Warwick, R.I. – January 26, 2015: The CCRI Knights track team traveled to Middletown, CT to compete in the Wesleyan Open Invitational (this was a non-scoring meet).
The CCRI Knights had many top eight placements at this Wesleyan Invitational. The first Knight to do so was Lee Mandanici (Medina OH) who placed 7th in the 400m run with a time of 54.13 seconds. Connor Williamson (West Warwick, RI) placed 8th in the Long Jump with a season best leap of 5.97m, he came back to place 8th in the 60m hurdles with a time in the finals of 9.67 seconds after running 9.50 in the 60 m trials. Knights' Thrower Shamar Spruill (Providence, RI) placed 7th in the weight throw with a season best toss of 13.43meters. Middle-distance specialist Ian Anderson (Warwick, RI) placed 8th in the 1,000m run with a time of 3 minutes 2.30 seconds. The 4x400m relay team of Mandanici, Cooper Ferreira (Westerly, RI), Javier Vasquez (Providence, RI) and Britton Laney (Pascoag, RI) placed 8th in the time of 3:50.29. The Knights return to Wesleyan in Middletown, CT next Saturday for another Meet beginning at 10:00am.
