The CCRI Knights men’s cross country team traveled to UMass-Dartmouth in North Dartmouth, MA to compete at the Corsair Invite. The Knights’ finished in 24th place out of 28 teams in their first 8k event of the season. CCRI Knights run well at their first 8k event of the season. The Knights had a complete team with five runners crossing the finish line with very good times.
David Palkovic (Middletown, RI) led the way for the Knights with a personal best time in an 8k cross country race placing 37th out of 210 runners in 27minutes 10 seconds. The next Knight in was Britton Laney (Pascoag, RI) who ran his first ever 8k race placing 170th with a great time of 31:38, followed by Daniel Duquette (North Attleboro, MA) also running his first college 8k placing 171st in a time of 31:39. Rounding out the Knights’ runners was Isaiah Hector (Warwick, RI) placing 179th in 32:46 and Joseph Gareri (Uxbridge, MA) placing 190th in his first 8k college race in a time of 4:30. Head Coach Gregg Cornel commented “This was a nice team effort with the guys showing great improvement as this season progresses.”
The next meet for the Knights will be Saturday October 5th at 10:00am when they will host the Tri-State Invitational on the CCRI cross country course located on the CCRI Flanagan Campus in Lincoln, RI.
