Lady Knights dominate Orange County CC 87-47!

The CCRI Lady Knights’ basketball team traveled to Middletown, NY on Tuesday to play the Colts of Orange County Community College (OCCC) for a non-league game.  The Lady Knights easily handled the Colts 87-47.  With the victory the Lady Knights improve to 6-0 on the season.
 
The Lady Knights controlled the game from beginning to the end. CCRI took a 49-23 lead into halftime and never looked back as they also outscored OCCC 39-24 in the second half to cruise to the easy 87-47 victory.
 
Leading the way for the Lady Knights was Co-Captain Ahnyyah Jackson (Hackensack, NJ) with a game-high 20 points, including three 3-pointers, with five rebounds, four assists, and four steals and Co-Captain Lexi Barros (New Bedford, MA) with 17 points, seven rebounds and two assists.  Also helping the Lady Knights’ effort was Lindsay Danise (Danbury, CT) with a career-high 15 points including three 3-pointers with six rebounds and Jesse Ossian (Chandler, AZ) 12 points with nine rebounds, seven assist and three steals.  Rounding out the CCRI attack was Amber Edwards (Boston, MA) with eight points and nine rebounds, Jess Winegar (Cranston, RI) with eight points, including two 3-pointers and Jess Patalano (Exeter, RI) with seven points and five rebounds.  
 
The next game for the Lady Knights will be just after the Thanksgiving break Monday December 2nd when they will host Lincoln College of New England for a Region XXI non-league game at 4:00pm at the Vincent A. Cullen Fieldhouse located on the CCRI Knight Campus in Warwick as part of a doubleheader with the Knights.
The Community College of Rhode Island, New England’s largest comprehensive community college, enrolls nearly 18,000 students in credit courses and thousands more in non-credit and job training classes. Its athletic program boasts 12 varsity programs and an academic support program for all student-athletes.
