WBB TeamWomen's Basketball

The CCRI Lady Knights basketball team is off to its greatest start in program history with a program-best 18-2 record.  Once again the team’s success has been rewarded with a small bump up in the latest NJCAA Division II women’s basketball poll moving up from No. 9 to No. 8.

The Lady Knights only had one game last week and easily defeated the Lions of Nassau Community College 114-50 to improve to 18-2.  The 114 points scored in a game was a program record.  As a team CCRI ranks in the top 10 in nine offensive statistical categories and on defensive category.  Those categories include: No.1 in Field Goals per game with 36, No. 2 in points with 1,818, No. 2 in points per game with 90.9, No. 2 in 3-pointer made per game with 7.4 and No. 2 in assist per game with 19.8 per game.  In addition offensively, they are ranked No. 5 in Free Throw percentage shooting at a 70.9% clip, No. 7 in Field Goal percentage shooting at 45.2% and No. 7 in 3-popinters attempts per game with 21. Defensively, the Lady Knights are ranked No. 3 in steals per game with 18.2 per contest.
