Knights’ golf battles tough conditions and remains 7-0!
The CCRI golf team traveled to New England Country Club in Franklin, MA for a match at the home course of Dean College. CCRI was the only complete team so their record remains 7-0.
The rain, freezing temperatures and horrible course conditions couldn't stop the CCRI Golf Team from putting on a great display of how to overcome adversity. Co-captain Anthony Lovechio (Wakefield, RI) shot a very impressive 80 and Greg North (Jamestown, RI) shot his season average of 86. Knights’ newcomers Zack Sullivan (Cumberland, RI) shot a 95 and Nick Rocchio (East Greenwich, RI) a 96 which was just as amazing, given the conditions. The real damper of the day was Dean showing up with only two players and Holyoke, Springfield Tech and Mass Bay not showing up at all. This left CCRI's record stuck at 7-0.
The Knights’ next match is Saturday April 27th at Chicopee Country Club with all regional teams expected to attend.
