Fallone named DIII Tennis Player of Year/National draws released!
The CCRI men’s tennis team is at the Division III Nationals hosted by Collin County Community College in Plano, TX. At the Saturday Pre-tournament meeting the coaches discuss seeding for the tournament and also the division I and Division III players of the year are named. This year CCRI No.1 Singles and Doubles standout Mike Fallone (North Providence, RI) from CCRI was named DIII player of the year. This is the second time I three years that CCRI has had the DIII player of the year the last time it happened was in 2010 with Alex Cavanagh.
The draws were also selected for the Tournament and they are as follows: In first singles Mike Fallone will face the winner of the Daniel Rabinovich of Kingsborough CC vs. Zach Arpey from SUNY-Adirondack Tuesday at 8:00AM CST. In second singles Anthony Lamborghini (Smithfield, RI) will face the winner of the Nolan Bilder Brookdale vs. Adam Cadwell Onondaga CC match also Tuesday at 8:00am CST. In third singles Nick DeAngelis (Northborough, MA) will face Evan Desantis from SUNY-Adirondack also Tuesday at 8:00am. In fourth singles Ross Bouchard (South Kingstown, RI) will face Andrew Parlow from Onondaga at 9:15AM CST. In fifth singles Timothy Holzinger (Foster, RI) will face Shawn Sullivan from Onondaga at 9:15 AM CST. In sixth singles Nick Morin will face Shamell Martin from Gloucester CC at 9:15AM CST.
In first doubles Fallone and Lamborghini will face the winner of Zac Hersman/Gustavo Linde of Oxford vs. Nolan Bilder/Ambrose Tingan of Brookdale match Tuesday at 1:00pm CST. In second doubles Bouchard and Holzinger will face Yevgeniy Reminnik and Marc Seduca of Kingsborough CC Tuesday at 1:00pm CST. Finally in third doubles Morin and DeAngelis will face the team of Andy and Justin Parlow from Onondaga CC Tuesday at 1:00pm CST.
