No. 17 Knights notch 11th in a row vs. Franklin Pierce!!

The No. 17 ranked (NJCAA DII poll) CCRI Knights baseball team traveled to Rindge, NH to play the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University Sub-Varsity squad on Thursday.  The Knights defeated the Ravens 10-4.  With the victory the Knights win their 11th in a row and improve to 25-8 on the season.

The Knights offense exploded for 15 hits and 10 runs as they broke open a close game by scoring eight runs over the last four innings to defeat the Franklin Pierce Sub-Varsity 10-4. The offense was led by John Razzino (Cranston, RI), Mike Sherburne (North Kingstown, RI) and Tyler Santaniello (Lincoln, RI) with three hits apiece. Marc Dorsi (West Haven, CT) and Co-Captain Tom Gavitt (North Stonington, CT) added two hits apiece and Mickey Gonzalez (Jersey City, NJ) hit a solo homerun, his first of the season to pace the Knights’ offensive attack.
 
On the mound for the Knights Co-Captain Chris Peralta (Providence, RI) did an excellent job holding the Raven’s bats in check as he scattered seven hits with two strikeouts to picked-up the victory. Peralta pitched into the sixth inning before giving way to Max Perry (Pawtucket, RI). Perry was very effective in one and a third innings of relief. Dylan Pingitore (Johnston, RI) came on in the ninth to get two strikeouts to close the game.
 
The Knights travel to Longley field in Franklin, MA on Saturday for a doubleheader with conference rival Dean College starting at noon.
