The No. 17 ranked (NJCAA DII poll) CCRI Knights baseball team traveled to Selden, NY to play the Sharks of Suffolk County Community College on Sunday for a doubleheader.  The Knights defeated the Sharks 9-4 and 11-0.  With the wins the Knights improve to 21-8 on the season.

Game 1: CCRI- 9 Suffolk County CC- 4
The Knights jumped out to an early lead by scoring five runs in the top of the second inning. They added two more runs in both the third and sixth innings to propel the team to victory in Game one of the doubleheader.

Mike Sherburne (North Kingstown, RI) led the offensive attack with two hits and two RBIs including a long home run to left center field that sparked the rally in the second inning. John Razzino (Cranston, RI) got on base three times with a hit and two walks and added four stolen bases to his team leading total. Tyler Santaniello (Lincoln, RI) also chipped in with two hits in the victory.

On the mound Brendan Cabral (Scituate, RI) picked up his third consecutive victory pitching five innings while spreading out three runs on four hits. Dylan Pingitore (Johnston, RI) and Roger Lincoln (East Providence, RI) came on in relief of Cabral to hold down the Sharks with one run and three hits over the final two innings.

Game 2: CCRI- 11 Suffolk County CC- 0
On the mound for the Knights Connor Gleason (North Stonington, CT) picked up his eighth victory of the season as he pitched five scoreless innings giving up only three hits and striking out eight Suffolk hitters as the Knights rolled over the Sharks in a game shortened five innings due to the mercy rule.

John Razzino once again provided the offensive spark for the Knights with four hits, an RBI, three runs scored, and three stolen bases. Marc Dorsi (West Haven, CT) also chipped in with three hits and two RBIs.  Co-Captain Tom Gavitt (North Stonington, CT) and Mike Sherburne contributed two hits and two RBIs apiece and Jamale Horn (hoover, AL) also added two RBIs to power the Knights offense.

The next game will be played on Monday as the team travels to Roxbury Crossing, MA for a Patriots Day matchup with Roxbury Community College at 4:00pm.
