About the Program

The CCRI golf team had an outstanding 2012 season and is preparing to return to the national tournament. Anthony Lovechio (South Kingstown, RI), Patrick O’Connor (North Kingstown, RI) and Gregory North (Jamestown, RI) are the team’s returning sophomores. Lovechio and O’Connor both represented CCRI at NJCAA Division III National Tournament held at Chautauqua Country Club in Mayville, New York in 2012. Freshmen Matt Burke (Wakefield, RI) and Gina Bartolotta (Wakefield, RI) are talented players and will be counted on to help the team advance throughout the season.

Cranston Country Club in western Cranston, Rhode Island is home to CCRI's championship golf program.  The 18-hole, well-manicured course is host to hundreds of local tournaments each year along with special events and parties.

The club has longtime ties to the Community College of Rhode Island because of its owners. The Lombardi family, owners of the Cranston Country Club have a son Michael who was a standout golfer for the Community College golf team. He was also inducted into our Athletic Hall of Fame. Currently, Michael owns and operates the Cranston Country Club.  He is committed to keeping the Lombardi family tradition going strong.

Tom Palmer, Director of Golf at Cranston is also a former member of the CCRI Golf program. CCRI could not ask for a better venue and quality individuals who recognize the important of a quality education.
