Darrell Matsumoto
Constructed Photographs (1989-2009)
In the exhibition, South Kingstown resident Matsumoto presents both color and black-and-white photographs. His colorful images balance on the edge of painting and photography, using found objects and composing them into often ironic or witty juxtapositions. Rhode Island-based Flynn has been labeled an alchemist – one who can transform ordinary things in ways that inspire wonder while touching upon the fragility of our humanity. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her exhibition of objects, sculptures and nail-polish paintings can be described by her quotation, “I am an artist in the habit of recycling objects, recycling ideas, recycling metaphors, recycling history." http://www.ccri.edu/in_the_news/releasetext.shtml#Mythos
