Natalie Coletta

Professor Natalie Coletta

Professor Natalie Coletta has been a faculty with CCRI since 1998. She holds a B.A. from the University of Rhode Island and a M.A. from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, having specialized in 19th and 20th century American Art and the History of Women Artists. As an undergraduate, Professor Coletta studied abroad at the International Institute for Foreign Studies, Florence, Italy. Post-graduate work has been in Italian studies and more recently, Asian. She has been a lecturer at UMass Dartmouth, Roger Williams University, Simmons College, and Rhode Island School of Design. Her film work includes the documentary The Naga Buddha, a study of temple design and a classical Cambodian sculpture. She is a seasoned contemporary art critic for such publications as Surface Design Journal, and a humanities scholar for the Oceanic collection, Roger Williams Park Museum of Natural History.  She recently completed her tenure as Department Chair and now returns to the joy of reading, writing and teaching students about the history of art.
