Cullen, Silvestre and Wilkes inducted into CCRI Hall of Fame

The college paid tribute to Vincent A. Cullen, former athletic director, basketball coach and professor; Dr. Robert A. Silvestre, former vice president for Academic Affairs and one of the college's 13 founding faculty members; and Charles R. Wilkes, former professor of mathematics and assistant basketball coach on April 22.

Students take environmental action

Members of CCRI’s Students for Environmental Action Club have come together for a variety of reasons and have accomplished a surprising amount in only two semesters. The goal of the organization is to demonstrate steps that can be taken on an individual or community level to address environmental problems that can seem too big to fix. Read more »

CCRI honors former major league pitcher Rheal Cormier '88

The Community College of Rhode Island Department of Athletics retired jersey No. 20 in honor of former major league pitcher Rheal Cormier '88 at the Knight Campus in Warwick on March 31. The ceremony marked the first time in CCRI's 47-year history that the college retired a jersey in honor of an athlete. Read more »

CCRI graduate, professor team up to produce films

Michael Iacobbo ’78 and his wife Karen, a CCRI adjunct professor, are independent filmmakers. The Iacobbos' short film "The Unproductive" was shown at Providence’s SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival on April 15. Read more »
