The Community College of Rhode Island Alumni Association established a scholarship to assist students with the purchase of books and educational supplies they need to succeed in January 2005. Twenty $250 scholarships redeemable at the CCRI Bookstore are available each semester of the academic year. Students are only eligible to receive one award per academic year.

Any matriculated full-time student with a minimum GPA of 2.0 that demonstrates financial need may apply. This scholarship does not require repayment, however, recipients will be required to sign a public relations release, and submit a thank you letter to the Alumni Association prior to any approved bookstore purchase. The student is encouraged to attend a breakfast with the Alumni Association Board of Directors during the semester.

The Alumni Association Committee in conjunction with the Financial Aid Office will review applications on a per semester basis and will notify students if they are awarded this scholarship.
