Guided Pathways

A message from the CCRI General Studies Task Force

This fall, CCRI will be engaging with faculty and staff to develop a Guided Pathways model that will create easier-to-follow program requirements for our students and better position them for employment and transfer success after graduation.

We know there is both a want and a need for clearer academic pathways for our future students. Starting in the fall semester, we seek your guidance and will be listening to your thoughts about how we develop and launch these Guided Pathways. We will host focus groups for faculty, staff and students throughout the academic year to make sure this planning process is transparent and equitable for our entire college community.

Dr. Rob Johnstone, a nationally renowned expert in Guided Pathways in higher education from the National Center for Inquiry and Improvement (NCII), will work with our us to facilitate and implement a Guide Pathways program at CCRI. Dr. Johnstone will be on campus for Opening Day on Aug. 31 through Sept. 1 to meet with faculty and staff.

One of the pillars of our college is that we offer a quality education at an affordable price. With Guided Pathways, we will be able to deliver on this promise and provide a clearer road to success for all of our students.

We look forward to speaking with all faculty and staff this this academic year. As we move through the planning process, we will be posting all documents, information, and meeting information here. We will also regularly update the college community through email and Currents, our faculty and staff blog that returns in September.
