AAWCC/RI was founded in 1997 and developed it’s
first strategic plan in 1999. Since that time, the organization has sponsored a wide array of programs and activities benefiting women employees of CCRI. The 2003—2006 plan outlines the organization’s direction for continued growth and development.

BELIEFS, OBJECTIVES, STRATEGIES
- When the intrinsic worth of an individual is recognized and her or his ideas and values are expressed, heard and validated, all benefit.
- Every individual’s contribution is valuable and necessary for the balance, growth and vitality of society.
- Women and men are capable of making valuable contributions to society, including assuming roles of leadership and responsibility.
- Every person is entitled equitable access to opportunities consistent with her or his goal and aspirations.
- To be an effective advocate for the concerns of all women of the college to the appropriate decision makers.
- To be an organization of engaged members who are representative of the women connected to the college.
- To be an organization that has the institutional commitment and the organizational resources to achieve its objectives.
- We will develop a vehicle to solicit and identify concerns of women in the college and inform appropriate key decision makers.
- We will create mechanisms to promote membership development.
- We will develop an annual plan to address securing institutional and organizational resources.
MISSION STATEMENT
AAWCC/RI provides leadership opportunities for its members, recognizes
the achievements of women within the college and enhances the CCRI
environment by promoting personal and professional development
opportunities for all women.
