Networks come in many variations and network systems and data communications analysts design, test, and evaluate systems such as Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Internet, Intranet, and other data communications systems. These analysts perform network modeling, analysis and planning; they may also research related products and make necessary hardware and software recommendations.
Individuals in entry level positions will plan, design, install, operate and maintain Wide Area Networks. Advancement will lead to installation, configuration, and operation of larger and more complex networks. Higher levels of this field can lead to IT project and people management.
Computer Network Specialists usually work about 40 hours a week—the same as many other professional or office workers. However, evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines or solve specific problems. These individuals may work at a customer site, network operations center, or at any mid to larger size business with a networking infrastructure.

Program Description
This program teaches the students the fundamentals of computer hardware and software as well as utilizing the Cisco Networking curriculum to provide a complete package of education.
Program requirements from the Catalog:
Students who successfully complete this program receive an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree.

Prerequisites: Math 0600 (elementary Algebra) or equivalent.
Hours Offered: Day, evening, and weekend classes are offered.
