How do I cite a Web site and other sources? |
|
There are many different styles for citing your sources. Most of the
professors at CCRI require you to cite your sources using either the
Modern Language Association (MLA) or American Psychological Association (APA)
format. Check to see if your professor has a preference; contact the
CCRI Writing Center if
you need help with your writing projects. Once
you select a style, it is important that you be consistent in using it
throughout your paper.
MLA Style The MLA guidelines on documenting both Web and print sources are explained in the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers. The official MLA Web site provides guidelines for documenting Web sources in your works-cited list in MLA Style: How do I Document Sources from the Web in my Works-Cited List? The CCRI Writing Center
has a handout on citing sources using the
APA Style The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association covers how to cite print and Web sources in APA style. The official APA Web site also provides style tips on citing Internet sources in APA Style: Electronic References. The CCRI Writing Center
has produced a handout on documenting sources using the
NoodleTools Try NoodleBib, a subscription tool to create MLA- and APA-style citations and bibliographies.
